December 2002
I've been doing some background updates over the past month as well as adding more stuff to the 2002 world trip pages. I completely updated the site map offering it as one big page or the faster loading site map by section pages. I'll be adding videos from the trip in the new year. I also added a new FAQ page for students who may review the site.

Big trip ends - some pics now online
After 10 weeks of traveling around the world it is good to be home again. I visited many places, and met many really nice people. The trip would not have been possible without the kind help and knowledge of those I visited. A very big thanks to all of the people I stayed with and met. I hope once I get back online again to keep in touch with everyone.
I have started a page about the trip with some limited pictures already online. It is a work in progress with more pictures coming soon. There is also a journal of the trip and comparison of the cities I visited, their culture, transport and how livable they are.
During the trip I traveled around the world once on ten plane flights, two train trips and about dozen bus trips, visiting ten countries. I have returned with 3900 digital photos and 15 hours of video footage. Understandably this will be too much to put online, so I will be producing a CD which people will be able to obtain by post. More details later on that. However I will be putting many of the images from the trip on this web site. This will take some time due to work commitments.
I have not yet linked these new pages from the Site Map but they have been indexed by the site search engine. Some still need to be checked for spelling.

The Big Trip begins.
Over the next 3 months I will be on the hoof traveling around the world to visit many other Urban Explorers and many urban Adventure sites. I will be visiting Italy, France, Germany, The Netherlands, The Vatican, Spain, Scotland, England, Canada and the United States. For this reason I will be difficult to contact, and the web site will not be updated much. I will try to add a few small updates as I travel. Many thanks to those who I will be meeting on the trip and to those who have offered accommodation.
The highlight of the trip for me will definitely be meeting the many other explorers out there whom I have admired for along time. It will also be great to share recollections of adventures, ideas and new ways to innovate in our hobby.

Added
a link to City
Link - UA City road tunnel
I did this tunnel a while back and it has been online for some time but I forgot to add a link to it. This is just one of three large road tunnels I have walked through. This one on an open day.
Updated the email page to advise people that I may be hard to reach over the next 3 months. Please be patient when waiting for replies to emails.
2nd July 2002
Updated the copyright policy to deal with bandwidth theft. Sorry for the drastic action, but as I have said in the copyright policy, if you want to borrow an image, ask first!
14th June 2002
I finally got off my but to update two of my links pages, United States and United Kingdom ones. Three new links being added. I really must update my links because some are becoming out of date. I just don't have much time to do this. :( Sorry to those who's links I took so long to add. I also updated the 'who' page with a bit more info about me.

The
Geelong Power Station (GPS) was a great place
to explore. Though now more or less sealed up and hard to get into, the building
still has some secrets to reveal. It is most famous for the dodgy staircase
leading up on to the roof of the six story high building. Mostly exterior
shots, with a few early morning interior ones. This is not my best work but
still worth looking at.
.
Also
well worth looking at are 'The ones that
got away'. Some times I have explored places but have not been able to
photograph them or other times I have lost the photos some how. This is not
all of the buildings I have missed, but quite a few of them.
I updated the Buran page with four new photos of the wheel bays and belly of the shuttle. I also updated the web page statistics and the site map which contains links to every web page on the site apart from the college tunnel single image pages and some of the Industrial Giant pages.
I also updated the "Stuff" page to show some images of the sort of junk you just find lying around when you explore some of the places I get around to.

Yes, that's a big gap between February and now. It does not mean I have not been doing anything. I just have not been on the Net as much as I used to. Got some nice new stuff for you all.
And,
now for your enjoyment... Buran, The Russian
space shuttle. I was contemplating leaving this out all together as these
are the sort of snaps any determined tourist could take. But what the heck.
It was a different sort of exploration. Not everything I explore is off limits
and hard to get to.
The Slaughter House. Another big abandoned industrial building. This three story building was a bit scary to explore. With the dodgy staircase from hell, holes in the floor and a spooky history it wasn't the sort of place you would want to stay in at night. Well north of UA City this place was in the middle of nowhere. It took a 2 day drive to get there.
I have not been updating my links as much as I would like. But a site I'd like to recommend is nightphotographer.com. Many nice abandoned industrial buildings to be seen there.

Had
a great find a few weeks ago! A friend alerted me of a massive Industrial
Giant that was being torn down. I had known of the place before but never
entered it due to tight security. I snuck in to explore the massive complex,
avoiding security guards and workmen. It was well worth it, as the place is
probably the second best abandoned building I have explored after City
Power. It is certainly a lot bigger than City Power but less action packed.
I suppose if I had more time to explore it, I would have enjoyed it more.
Sadly the building is all but gone now.

Updated the Buildings page to include preview images and links to some of the newer abandoned buildings I have explored.
Updated the Bunkers main page to include links to new pages on Anzac and Chowder Bay bunkers

5th January 2002
Added some more links. Still adding more and checking others.
Added some advice of what to do if you encounter police or security guards when exploring. They have not been a problem for me, but this is due to taking the right approach.
Some stuff on the history of Urban Exploration.
All pages have had their copyright warning automatically updated to include 2002.
