Urban Adventure - Behind the Keep Out sign
25th December 2005
Well things are looking up with finances sorted out, and a new secure job. I've been working on my bus a bit, and are preparing to add some new pages to this web site.

No significant new exploring done. Lack of finance and medical problems have been stopping me from exploring.
Just updated the visual site map, text site map and added 3 new video pages from my 2004 explorations. Also fixed up links to graphics on the 2002 world trip pages.

As most would realise I've not been doing much urban exploration in the past year. I had been planning to head over seas this year again but finances, medical bills and problems at work have prevented me from making any trips anywhere. I've recently received a redundancy notice at work, so I've cut back my spending dramatically and have been paying off my debts as fast as I can. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to travel again. For the time being I'm just working hard looking for a new job and trying not to spend money on anything but essentials. For this reason I have not being accessing the Internet much and have not been able to visit some of the UE related sites as I used to.
I have been working on a project to move into a camper-van to try reduce my living costs and increase my ability to look for work over wider areas. I am also ken to be able to be more free an independent. Why rent and throw your money away? Besides, I like the idea of living in a small space so I don't have to waste energy heating it all. It will also force me to reduce the amount of junk own. Best of all though, I will be able to travel where I want. :)

Finally, after experimenting with a new site look and new lay out I have decided to stick with this old look which I like.

I am at this moment working on a big update for the site. Having traveled overseas again May and June 2004 I have finally started to produce web pages for my travels. I will be adding pages for St Louis, Minniapolis-StPaul, Toronto and New York. While the pages are well underway, I've been experiencing a big problem using FTP on this site recently. It has not been possible to upload much to the site due to this problem.
I will probably start withdrawing from Urban Exploration for a while or at least being less active than I have been. While I enjoy the hobby, I have now explored pretty much all there is to explore in Canberra, where I now live.. I am also acutely aware at age 34 I do not own my own home, and am still single so I want to find a nice, good, kind and gentle woman to settle down with. Unless some major television netwok offers me reasonable money to chronicle my adventures, I expect that if I make a trip to Europe in 2005, that it will be my last overseas exploring trip.

Not a big update,

Many long term visitors to this site will realise I have not really been doing much new exploration. The main reasons for this is that I no longer live in UA city. Instead I live in the extremely boring Urbana. This city, with 300,000 people is extraordinarily boring, with not much to explore. Once you find a new site, you quickly explore it to the limits. Then there's just nothing worth exploring till you find a new place.
Which is why I am saving my pennies to go overseas again. In May 2004 I hope to commence another overseas trip. Hence I am also saving my money. Apart from old material, I do not expect any real new content on the site until after May. Hopefully this time some media might realise the potential of covering such a trip and jump on the bandwagon (hint hint). Note also that I may not be online as often as before so I may take a couple of weeks to reply to your emails.
I have however put a lot of older videos and some more recent ones on the site. Some from the 2002 trip, and some from 2003.
News for 2001 is here
