A combination of baking soda, vinegar, and boiling water works really well for this purpose. These things can eliminate flies while keeping the pipes well-maintained and hygienic.
I use half a cup of baking soda and a cup of apple cider vinegar for disinfecting pipes. Start by pouring the baking soda first, followed by the vinegar. Pour slowly until you notice a fizzing and bubbling action in your mixture.
Take it slow when pouring, otherwise, the fizz may come up and overflow – something you would not want happening, for sure!
Next, let this mixture sit for about an hour before pouring some boiling water right through the drain. This will wash away the baking soda and vinegar solution and loosen the dirt inside.
If this mixture seems to be too weak for the buildup, you can try using bleach. Not only is this potent for killing drain flies, but it also removes sticky and stubborn debris in your pipes.
